Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a vibrant dental practice. As a key member of our clinical team, you will deliver preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and support overall patient well-being. Your expertise will help ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments, medical history review, and oral examinations.
Take digital dental radiographs while adhering to infection control protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Dentrix Dental Software
Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
Support infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes in line with IPAC standards.
Review documentation for accuracy and support billing processes related to dental procedures.

Qualifications

Valid Current Ontario Dental Hygiene license in good standings is mandatory.
Proven experience in general dentistry is highly preferred.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix is desirable but not necessary.
Ability to work efficiently within a team while maintaining high standards of care.

This posting is currently for 12 months, however there is a strong possibility it will run longer.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
