Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dental team. Experience in the specialty of prosthodontics is preferred but not required. The Registered Dental Assistant will assist the dentist in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. The ideal candidate should have a passion for dentistry, strong clinical skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

Experience with prosthodontic procedures such as dentures, bridges, and dental implants is recommended but not required.
Ability to work with patients with complex dental needs and to provide emotional support and reassurance.
Experience with digital dentistry, including CAD/CAM systems, intra oral scanning and photography of dentition is recommended.
Strong organizational skills to manage lab work and make custom trays.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures.
Assist the dentist during patient procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, preparing materials, placing implants, taking impressions, packing cord, denture work and record taking in data collection appointments.
Take and process dental x-rays and intraoral images including a CBCT scan.
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques for specific procedures and provide post-operative instructions.
Record patient medical and dental histories and chart dental treatments. Experience with Dentrix is recommended but not required.
Schedule appointments and manage patient records.
Assist in the management of dental supplies and inventory.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
Active Registered Dental Assistant license in Alberta.
CPR certification.
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with provincial regulations.
Basic computer skills.
