Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their visits. As a vital member of our team, you will work closely with dentists and other staff to promote oral health and educate patients on proper dental hygiene practices.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patient oral health.
- Utilize dental instruments and equipment to provide preventive care, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Schedule restorative visits when the patient requires.
- Document patient treatment plans and maintain accurate records in Dentrix software.
- Assist in the management of patient flow and ensure a welcoming environment for all patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional customer service and address any patient concerns.
Experience
- A degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, particularly with knowledge of orthodontics and pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and proficiency in using Dentrix software is a plus.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as effective communication with diverse patient populations is essential.
- Strong customer service skills are necessary to foster positive relationships with patients and enhance their overall experience.
The clinical schedule for this position will start as:
- Monday: 8am - 4pm
- Wednesday - 10am - 6pm
- Thursday - 11am - 7pm
- *Saturday - 8am - 4pm (no more than two per month)
- There is potential to pick up additional days as the patient base grows
