Job Overview
We’re looking for a talented and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant with at least 2 years of experience to become a key member of our patient-centered team. In this role, you’ll contribute to high-quality care, support clinical operations, and help create a welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our door. Strong communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine passion for dentistry are a must!
What we are looking for!
- Assisting in Dental Procedures: Experience in assisting with a variety of dental procedures, such as fillings, crowns (lab & CEREC), root canals, extractions, Invisalign and other orthodontic related treatments.
- Sterilization and Infection Control: Knowledge and experience in sterilizing dental instruments, setting up trays, and maintaining infection control protocols.
- X-ray Imaging: Experience in taking dental X-rays, including CBCT, panoramic and intraoral films, in compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records using our dental software (Oryx) training provided.
- Communication Skills: Experience in communicating effectively with patients, the doctors and all other team members, providing comfort during procedures, and explaining post-treatment care instructions.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Support patients with a friendly demeanor to ensure their comfort during visits.
- Effective Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy dental office setting while maintaining organization and efficiency.
- Professional Development: Participation in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on changes in dental practices, technologies, and infection control standards.
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience.
- Must be registered and licensed with the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C).
- A current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid is typically required.
- Proficiency in dental terminology.
- Excels at staying organized and focused in a dynamic, high-traffic dental office with a large team and a steady stream of patients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, especially in preparing treatment areas, handling instruments, and recording patient information accurately.
Hours:
Monday Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (first patient starts at 8:30 AM)
Tuesday Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (first patient starts at 8:30 AM)
Wednesday Shift: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (first patient starts at 10:30 AM)
Thursday Shift 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (first patient at starts 8:30 AM) ** This shift is every other Thursday starting fall.
Occasional Saturday Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (first patient starts at 8:00 AM)

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
