We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients, and contributing to a positive dental experience. This position requires expertise in various dental procedures, patient assessment, and a strong commitment to infection control and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients of all ages.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
- Assist in chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow during treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies.
- Operate dental imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes, including X-rays.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both pediatric and general dentistry settings.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Qualifications
- Current certification and good standing with CDHO
- Current CPR, IPAC and WHMIS
- Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in Abeldent software being an asset.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, including social assistance programs such as ODSP, HSO, CDCP, NIHB
- Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages.
- Efficient time management for patient appointments to ensure your remain on time in your schedule
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 7 per week
