Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to deliver preventive dental care, oral health education, and cosmetic dental treatments to our patients. The RDH will perform assessments, cleanings, Zoom whitening treatments, and other hygiene-related procedures while adhering to IPAC Ontario standards and maintaining patient safety and comfort. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the dental team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough dental hygiene assessments, including periodontal charting, oral cancer screenings, and radiograph interpretation.
- Provide prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and other hygiene treatments as appropriate.
- Administer Zoom whitening treatments and educate patients on cosmetic dental procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records in AbelDent, MaxAssist, and Dexis software, documenting assessments, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Ensure strict adherence to IPAC protocols, sterilization procedures, and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with dentists and team members to develop patient care plans.
- Manage hygiene-related clinical supplies and ensure operatories are prepared and stocked.
- Participate in continuing education and stay updated on clinical best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Ontario.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental hygiene experience preferred.
- Periodontal experience preferred.
- Experience with Zoom whitening treatments preferred.
- Knowledge of IPAC Ontario standards and CDHO regulations.
- Proficiency in AbelDent, MaxAssist, and Dexis dental software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- CPR certification preferred; WHMIS and workplace safety knowledge is an asset.
