Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday's 8:30-5, with our associate dentist. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during procedures and providing exceptional patient care. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental practice and contribute to the oral health of our patients. New grads welcome!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed
- Take digital dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming custom trays
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-operative instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical history as necessary
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to ensure efficient operation of the dental office
Skills:
- Proficiency in Cleardent or similar dental software for appointment scheduling and record keeping
- Experience in dental assisting, particularly in pediatrics and orthodontics, is highly desired
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
