Job Overview
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care in our dynamic dental practice. You will work closely with our dental team to deliver comprehensive hygiene services, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and ensure a comfortable experience for everyone. Your expertise in dental procedures and patient assessment will be essential as you contribute to our mission of enhancing smiles and overall well-being.
What you’ll do
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy while utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Assess patients’ oral health by taking vital signs, reviewing medical records, and conducting detailed patient assessments.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary recommendations, and preventive care strategies.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems to document patient information accurately and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring a sterile environment through aseptic techniques.
- Conduct medical imaging as required to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to create personalized treatment plans that cater to individual patient needs.
Basic qualifications
- Valid dental hygiene license in accordance with state regulations.
- Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix software for practice management.
- Background in pediatric dentistry or experience working with children in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes.
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic environment is highly desirable.
