About the Clinic
Allison Hill Dental Clinic is a community-focused, well-established dental practice located in Sackville, New Brunswick. Our team includes one dentist, two independent dental hygienists, and a dedicated front office professional. We are committed to providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and calm clinical environment. The practice focuses primarily on general dentistry and dental emergencies.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Level II Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will support the dentist in providing comprehensive dental care and ensure the efficient operation of clinical procedures. This position involves working as the primary dental assistant, with support provided by a Level I assistant/receptionist. Training expected to take place before Christmas, official start date with dentist is January 5th, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during clinical procedures, including emergency care
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and operatories in accordance with infection prevention and control standards
- Capture, process, and manage dental radiographs and intraoral images
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and treatment documentation
- Assist in treatment planning and patient education, including post-operative care instructions
- Manage clinical supply inventory and coordinate ordering as required
- Support laboratory processes and case management as needed
- Collaborate effectively with the dentist, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations and thorough patient care
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a recognized accredited dental assisting program
- Clinical Practice Evaluation (CPE) if graduated from a non accredited dental assisting school
- Certification as a Level II Dental Assistant and current registration in good standing with the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB)
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Professional, patient-centered approach and attention to detail
- Previous experience as a Level II Dental Assistant is considered an asset; new graduates are also encouraged to apply
