Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings and working with our team members to ensure patients is covered for treatment by insurance providers. Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Take and mount dental x-rays using Vatech xray system
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health recommendations
- Assist the dentist during procedures such as examination
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans
- Perform fluoride treatments as needed
- Recall patients and reminder calls before their appointment
- Ensuring dental coverage with patient prior to the start of procedure
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients of all ages
Qualifications:
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in Alberta
- Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental software is a plus
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures if needed
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
