Job Summary
West Market Dental, located just above Sunterra Market in the SW area of Signal Hill, is looking for an experienced RDH (min 2-3 yrs experience) to cover a 9-12mos (open ended) medical leave position starting Feb23/26. We are a well established and fully digital progressive family practice with 3 Dentists and 4 hygienists. Like sleeping in? The position is Mon-Thurs, hours are Mon-Wed 10am-7pm and Thurs 7am-3:30pm. Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist in the application of sealants and fluoride treatments
- Document patient information accurately using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Support the dental team during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Manage infection control protocols in compliance with IPAC standards
- Coordinate with the dentist regarding treatment plans and patient progress
- Maintain a clean, organized operatories and sterilize instruments according to protocol
Requirements
- Valid license as a Dental Hygienist
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental office management software is preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures is a plus
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Prior experience in a dental office setting, especially with dental assisting or pediatric patients, is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health care
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion

Pay: $58.00-$64.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
