Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
- Assist the dentist during examinations
- Take digital dental radiographs while adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient information.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental coding for accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique.
- Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles when working with children or adolescent patients.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
