Position: Dental Laboratory Assistant (Dental Product Development and R&D Support Assistant)
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Product Development and R&D Support Assistant (Dental Laboratory Assistant) to provide dedicated support to the Dental Product Development & R&D Technician in our R&D Department.
Working under the direction of the R&D Technician, the successful candidate will assist with laboratory production and dental product development activities, including preparing dental models and material samples, organizing case components, supporting routine testing and evaluations, and assisting with preliminary finishing. Additional responsibilities include maintaining technical and quality-control records, monitoring and ordering laboratory supplies, providing administrative support, and keeping laboratory equipment and work areas clean and organized in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, teamwork, good manual dexterity, and the ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently and on schedule in a fast-paced dental laboratory environment.

Wage: $35.00 to $42.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 to 40 hours per Week

Job duties:
1. Prepare plaster working models and moulds from dental impressions according to case requirements to support dental device fabrication and product development activities.
2. Assist dental technologists and technicians in preparing and fabricating dentures and other dental devices by organizing case components, preparing materials, and carrying out assigned preliminary finishing and laboratory support procedures.
3. Cast gold or other dental metal alloys for bridges and denture bases according to prescribed laboratory procedures and instructions from dental technologists or technicians.
4. Prepare material samples and trial models for dental product development projects under the direction of dental technologists and technicians.
5. Assist with routine laboratory testing and material evaluations by preparing samples, taking prescribed measurements, and recording observations and results.
6. Maintain organized laboratory and product-development records, including work orders, sample identification records, material usage logs, and testing documentation.
7. Complete assigned quality-control checklists, check prepared samples against established instructions, report defects or unusual test results to the supervising technician, and keep laboratory equipment and work areas clean and organized in accordance with established safety procedures.
8. Monitor inventory levels, maintain supply records, and order dental laboratory materials and consumables to support production and development activities.
9. Provide administrative support by organizing case files, tracking work orders and sample preparation schedules, and maintaining safety and procedural documentation.

Requirements
· Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
· At least 3 years of dental laboratory experience. Experience supporting dental product development or R&D is an asset.
