Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
- Provide support with orthodontic treatments, including adjustments and patient instructions.
- Offer pediatric dental hygiene services tailored to young patients’ needs, fostering positive experiences.
- Communicate effectively with bilingual patients to ensure clear understanding of treatment plans and oral health advice.
- Uphold strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Contribute to the overall customer service experience by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Prior experience working in a dental office setting, preferably with pediatric or orthodontic specialties.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health conditions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve our multicultural community effectively.
- Experience in dental assisting is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to support clinical team members is appreciated.
- Familiarity with orthodontics procedures and patient care is an advantage for this role.
