Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health, and promoting preventive dental practices. You will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to deliver exceptional service in a friendly and supportive environment.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
- Conduct patient evaluations, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
- Assist in chairside procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Provide education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care to patients.
- Utilize EMR systems for documentation review and management of patient information.
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Stay updated on current dental practices, technologies, and regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft and Dentrix software is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and medical coding is beneficial.
- Familiarity with anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of general dentistry principles as well as pediatric dentistry practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and assessment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independent problem-solving skills.
