Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth and efficient dental office environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly, professional setting with a focus on patient education and oral health promotion. Monday to Thursday schedule with occasional Saturdays as needed and must be able to work evenings.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal evaluations, scaling, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall oral health.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix.
- Sterilize instruments and prepare treatment rooms for procedures in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Manage patient scheduling, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service to foster a positive patient experience.
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed, including inventory management and supply ordering.
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix an asset.
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Experience in dental assisting or working within a busy dental office environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to empathize and communicate clearly with patients of all ages.
