Job Description
We are a welcoming neighborhood dental office. We provide comprehensive care to our patients in a friendly environment. Our objective is to get our patients as healthy as possible by working as a cohesive team. Our goal is to best serve the community rather than “sell” dentistry.
Specific Hours:
- Appointments are generally 1 hour long (hygienist to determine frequency and length of subsequent appointments).
- 2+ days per week
– Monday 7:45–5:15 (30–60 min lunch)
– Thursdays 8:45–5:15
– AND ideally one Saturday per month, excluding summer Saturdays, ~7:30am–2:30pm (8 per year in total)
- Potential for the addition of an extra day (Friday; these tend to be shorter days as well, 8–1 or 9–2)
We are looking for someone who is able to:
- Assess dental conditions and risk using patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and perio-charting
- Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygiene procedures such as cleaning, polishing, radiographs, application of sealants, fluorides, and varnishes and related procedures
- Identify and educate patients on dental disease and treatment recommendations
- Work with dentists to develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients
- Document dental history, records, and observations; report patient reactions; document lab procedures and ensure follow-ups
- Use down-time to clean and restock operatories, assist in preparation of patient care areas, sterilize instruments, etc.
