Job Summary
Lakewood Dental Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients of all ages. Experience with Dentrix is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and medical histories to ensure safe treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize dental terminology accurately when documenting patient records and treatment notes in Dentrix.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care delivery.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
- Stay updated on current dental practices, medical terminology, and documentation standards relevant to the role.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general or pediatric dentistry environments.
- Proficiency in Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical records management.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical imaging procedures, vital signs monitoring, and medical coding standards.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and clinical excellence.
