The Role

As a Dental Assisting Instructor, you will play a key role in preparing the next generation of Level II Dental Assistants. You will deliver engaging, practical, and learner-focused instruction while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Through your teaching and mentorship, you will help students develop the knowledge, skills, and professionalism required for successful careers in dental assisting.

What You’ll Do

Deliver curriculum for courses within the Dental Assisting program, aligned with program learning outcomes and industry standards
Facilitate engaging lectures, collaborative activities, and hands-on learning experiences to reinforce key concepts
Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that support student learning and professional readiness
Assess student performance through assignments, projects, exams, and other evaluation methods, providing clear and constructive feedback
Provide mentorship, academic advising, and ongoing support to guide students in their academic and professional development
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration
Integrate current industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies into instructional content
Maintain accurate academic records and course documentation
Collaborate with colleagues to support program quality, consistency, and continuous improvement

What You Bring

Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Board License
Minimum 5 years of combined education and/or professional experience
Strong knowledge of dental assisting practices, standards, and professional expectations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire adult learners from diverse backgrounds
A professional, student-focused approach with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Prior teaching, training, facilitation, or instructional experience is considered an asset
