We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our dental office. This role requires a blend of administrative skills and knowledge of dental terminology, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient office management. This maternity leave position will be 29-33 hours a week. Experience in a dental office is required. Ability to occasionally chairside assist is an asset but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and providing information about services.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental records systems such as Abeldent.
- Process patient insurance claims and verify insurance coverage.
- Handle administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming for patients.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Skills
- Proficiency in phone systems to manage incoming calls efficiently.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental practices.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail in managing records.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems, particularly Abeldent, is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
