Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Dentist to join our dental practice in a very unique environment. The Dentist will be responsible for providing and coordinating essential dental services to inmates in a correctional setting. The role involves delivering primary dental care, including x-rays and health promotion, in compliance with federal legislation, provincial standards and policies. The Dentist must collaborate with the institution’s multi-disciplinary health services team and ensure continuity and integration of care, including coordination with external dental specialists. The ideal candidate will have a background in general dentistry and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Duties
- Provide primary dental care and health promotion.
- Prepare clinic lists and triage appointment schedules.
- Manage all aspects of dental care services.
- Approve recommendations from external dental providers.
- Document assessments, treatments, and consultations.
- Consult with Medical Team on equipment and supplies.
- Supervise Dental Assistant
- Participate in grievance/investigation processes as needed.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Work with DA to ensure compliance with sterilization standards and documentation protocols.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice dentistry in Alberta.
- Minimum 6 months of recent experience as a practicing dentist.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance

Pay: $200.00-$225.00 per hour
