Dental Hygiene Coordinator
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and organized Hygiene Coordinator to manage and optimize the hygiene schedule in our busy dental practice. This role focuses on recall management, patient communication, and ensuring the hygiene schedule remains full and productive.
The ideal candidate has dental office experience, strong communication skills, and is comfortable proactively reaching out to patients to maintain their regular hygiene care.
Key Responsibilities
Recall & Patient Communication
- Manage and maintain the hygiene recall system to ensure patients remain on their recommended continuing care schedule
- Contact patients via phone, text, and email to book overdue or upcoming hygiene appointments
- Follow up with patients who have missed or unscheduled recall visits
- Educate patients on the importance of regular hygiene care and preventative treatment
Hygiene Schedule Management
- Maintain a full and productive hygiene schedule for all hygienists
- Monitor schedule openings and proactively fill cancellations and gaps
- Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure appropriate appointment lengths and scheduling efficiency
- Assist with pre-booking hygiene appointments for patients at the end of their visits
Front Desk Support
- Provide front desk support including scheduling, answering phones, and assisting patients with appointment inquiries
- Work collaboratively with the administrative and clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations
Patient Experience
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure patients feel welcomed and supported
- Address patient questions regarding appointments, scheduling, and continuing care
Qualifications
- Previous dental office experience preferred
- Experience with recall systems and hygiene scheduling is an asset
- Strong communication and patient relationship skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage schedules in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dental practice management software is an asset

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
