Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our periodontal specialty dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist with dental procedures, and promote oral health education. Duties
- Perform dental scaling and root planing, including initial non-surgical periodontal treatment, periodontal maintenance, patient follow-up, and patient education.
- Take diagnostic dental radiographs as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix.
- Manage patient scheduling, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the sterilization and proper handling of dental instruments and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations of the dental office.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software preferred.
- Knowledge of periodontics is essential, as well as a basic understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Commitment and desire to always increase your knowledge, understanding, and hand skills.
- Prior experience in a dental office setting providing periodontal management and maintenance is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry, including periodontal terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in an environment that prioritizes patient care. Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $53.25-$68.46 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
