We are a busy periodontal specialist office dedicated to providing excellent oral care in a comfortable environment. Our team values teamwork, compassion, and professionalism—and we’re looking for a skilled Dental Sterilization Technician to join us full-time.
Job Description / Duties:
- Decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize reusable dental instruments.
- Operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves, Hydrim).
- Lay out surgical instruments for procedures; reassemble instrument packs.
- Perform sterilization assurance monitoring (mechanical, chemical, biological).
- Maintain sterile storage areas.
- Restock and manage sterilization supplies and inventory.
- Maintain logs / documentation of sterilization cycles.
- Clean and disinfect dental treatment rooms between patients.
- Assist dental team as needed (e.g., set up for procedures).
- Perform general clerical duties (filing, recordkeeping).
Requirements:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required, post-secondary certificate an asset.
- Experience in sterilization or dental environment preferred, but willing to train.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of infection control best practices.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office) may be required.
Work Conditions:
- Fast-paced clinic environment.
- Repetitive tasks and standing for periods.
- Combination of sitting, walking, and bending.
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday - 8:00-4:00
- Alternation Fridays - 8:00-2:00
