Job Summary
Our downtown dental office is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, dental procedures, and infection control, with a passion for promoting oral health and providing exceptional service. Responsibilities include: performing comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and assisting in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality general dentistry services while ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Our practice offers a wide range of services and additional training will be provided as needed.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Take digital radiographs/scans while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term health habits.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories within electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Support the dental team by managing sterilization processes, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Stay informed about current dental terminology, procedures, and advancements in dental technology to continually improve patient care quality.
- Application of dental sealants
- Obtaining dental breakdowns and understanding coverage details
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- Proven experience in general dentistry settings.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with digital radiograph taking
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and security of patient information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic medical records management
- Familiarity with AbelDent software is an asset
This is a part time position with two days available, with potential for a third. We offer fair and competitive compensation based on experience and knowledge.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
