Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring smooth daily operations within the dental office. Prior experience in dental or medical office settings, along with familiarity with electronic health records, is highly valued. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records using systems such as AbelDent
- Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments
- Collect payments and process billing accurately
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk area and ensure compliance with office policies
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence as needed
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office setting
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as AbelDent
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules and patient information
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
- Prior office experience, including administrative tasks such as billing, filing, and data entry, is preferred
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and healthcare compliance standards
