Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Dental Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office workflows. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining a smooth patient experience. Prior experience with dental management software such as Dentrix, along with knowledge of medical and dental terminology, is essential. The Dental Office Manager will play a key role in fostering an efficient, welcoming environment that supports both patient care and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the dental practice, including scheduling, billing, and patient flow management
- Oversee human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff scheduling
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Manage office budgets, supplies inventory, and vendor relationships to optimize operational efficiency
- Coordinate with dental practitioners and support staff to facilitate effective communication and workflow
- Implement policies for patient confidentiality and safety in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
- Assist in resolving patient concerns or complaints promptly to uphold high levels of patient satisfaction
- Maintain proficiency in dental management software like Dentrix and stay updated on industry best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a dental office environment with familiarity in electronic medical records systems
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in dental office management software such as Dentrix; experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred
- Background in human resources management, including hiring, training, and staff development
- Knowledge of budgeting and inventory management within a healthcare setting
- Experience working in hospital or acute care environments is a plus but not required
- Exceptional communication skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and vendors
