Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dental Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive dental office experience, and proficiency with practice management software such as Dentrix. This role involves managing staff, ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the overall success of the practice. Candidates with a background in medical or hospital settings, including nursing or acute care, will be considered a plus. The Dental Office Manager will play a vital role in fostering a professional, welcoming environment for both staff and patients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily office activities to ensure smooth operations
- Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee patient scheduling, billing, and insurance processing using Dentrix or similar electronic medical records systems
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws
- Handle human resources functions including hiring, onboarding, and conflict resolution
- Monitor practice budgets and assist with financial planning and reporting
- Ensure the office adheres to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient care workflows
- Implement process improvements to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience managing a dental or medical office environment
- Proficiency with Dental software Open dental or comparable practice management software
- Strong knowledge of electronic medical records systems and medical terminology
- Previous supervisory or human resources experience in healthcare settings
- Familiarity with budgeting, billing, and insurance procedures
- Experience working in hospital or acute care environments is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to lead a team effectively and foster a positive work environment
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and privacy laws
