Overview
Brookview Dental Clinic in the Riverbend/Terwillegar area is seeking a dental hygienist for a maternity leave positon that is available immediately. The position would end the end of 2026 with a possiblilty of extention to permanent part-time.
We require a RDH for 2-3 days per week and are flexible on the dates and hours worked.
Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Assist in diagnosing periodontal issues and recommend appropriate treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns and ensuring a comfortable experience
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental management software such as Power Practice
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive dental care
- Support pediatric patients with gentle, age-appropriate care techniques
- Assist with administrative tasks when necessary, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license
- Proven experience working in a dental office setting; familiarity with Power Practice software is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and another language (bilingual skills) are highly desirable
- Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and hygiene standards
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $55.00-$65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
