As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team.
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist who is passionate about patient education, preventive care, and clinical excellence. You will work alongside a collaborative team of dental professionals to deliver high-quality hygiene services tailored to each patient's unique needs. This role is ideal for someone who values autonomy, takes pride in their clinical skills, and enjoys building meaningful connections with patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including periodontal evaluations and oral cancer screenings.
- Provide thorough scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures.
- Take and develop dental radiographs as prescribed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment recommendations.
- Develop individualized care plans and collaborate with dentists on patient treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with provincial regulations.
- Ensure infection control protocols and sterilization standards are followed at all times.
- Assist in promoting the practice's preventive care programs and patient recall system.
- Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Experience
- Diploma or degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Active registration in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Alberta (CDHA).
- Valid CPR and/or BLS certification.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong clinical skills with attention to detail and infection control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine passion for patient education and preventive care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software is an asset.
- Flexibility to work one evening per week or Saturday rotation as needed.
