Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall patient experience. Duties
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and recommend appropriate treatments or products
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix
- Manage patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and provide excellent customer service
- Support pediatric patients with gentle care and effective communication
- Assist with orthodontic procedures and provide support for orthodontic patients when necessary
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA standards
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist
- Experience working in a dental office setting; familiarity with Dentrix is preferred
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, medical terminology, and infection control standards
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Experience working with pediatric patients or orthodontics is desirable but not mandatory
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to educate and comfort patients of all ages
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively within a team
