Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dental Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing administrative functions, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining a smooth patient experience. This role requires strong leadership skills, proficiency with dental management software, and a solid understanding of dental and medical office procedures. The Dental Office Manager will play a critical role in fostering an efficient, patient-focused environment that upholds the highest standards of care and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations, including appointment scheduling, billing, and patient records management
- Supervise administrative staff, including receptionists and billing personnel, providing training and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and safety standards
- Oversee the use of dental practice management software such as Dentrix and electronic medical records systems
- Coordinate with dental providers to optimize workflow and patient care delivery
- Handle human resources functions such as hiring, onboarding, and staff development
- Manage office budgets, supplies inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective operations
- Maintain accurate documentation of medical and dental records with attention to confidentiality and security
- Assist in implementing policies related to medical terminology usage, billing procedures, and patient communication
- Support the practice’s growth by developing strategies for efficiency improvements and patient satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience managing a dental or medical office environment with familiarity using Dentrix or similar practice management software
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records (EMR), and healthcare compliance standards
- Excellent leadership skills with prior supervising or team management experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to handle human resources responsibilities including staffing, training, and conflict resolution
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation within a healthcare practice
- Knowledge of hospital or acute care settings is a plus, along with nursing or healthcare administration background
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, vendors, and healthcare providers
