Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to cover a maternity leave with our dynamic dental team on Tuesdays from 8 am-5 pm and Thursdays from 8 am-3 pm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their visits. This role requires a strong commitment to patient education and preventive care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in the management of patient records.
- Provide support in orthodontic procedures when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental team to create treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding their dental health.
Skills
- Dental hygiene diploma or equivalent required
- Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships with patients.
- Familiarity with dental assisting practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
