Dental Administrator (Dental Office Administrator / Receptionist)
Position Overview
The Dental Administrator is the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the dental office. This position combines exceptional customer service with strong organizational and administrative skills to support both patients and the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and recalls
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and patient inquiries promptly
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Process insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and billing
- Collect and record payments, and manage accounts receivable
- Coordinate treatment plans and communicate financial options to patients
- Ensure daily schedule flow is optimized and running efficiently
- Liaise with dental team members to support clinical operations
- Maintain office cleanliness and organization at the front desk
- Follow office policies, privacy regulations, and infection control protocols
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office preferred
- Strong understanding of dental insurance and billing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
