We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of dentistry, including pediatrics and orthodontics. In addition to providing chairside assistance to the dentist, the Dental Assistant will also be responsible for managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and providing education on oral hygiene.
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Manage patient records and update medical history forms
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Knowledge of dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience working with pediatric patients and orthodontic procedures
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assistance and instrument sterilization
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Curve Hero
