Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in Sherwood Park. This position is for Monday and Friday day shifts only, no evenings or weekends. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and education to our patients, ensuring optimal oral health. This role requires a professional who is not only proficient in dental hygiene practices but also possesses excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth
- Conduct patient assessments and take medical histories
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Assist in the management of patient records using Cleardent software
- Collaborate with dentists on treatment plans.
- Provide support in dental assisting tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and questions
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the province of practice
- Experience with Cleardent software is preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics is a plus but not necessary.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication
- Previous dental office experience is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated
