Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office management, with experience in dental settings being highly desirable. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a thorough understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to manage both staff and patient interactions effectively.
Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the dental office, ensuring a smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Supervise and train office staff, including receptionists and dental assistants, to maintain efficient office procedures.
- Oversee scheduling of patient appointments and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Handle human resources tasks, including staff recruitment, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure that all patient needs are met promptly and effectively.
- Implement office policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out process
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and maintain an efficient calendar
- Handle phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries professionally
- Oversee insurance verification, billing, and payment processing
- Maintain office inventory and supplies
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed
- Uphold patient confidentiality
- Foster a welcoming, clean, and organized front office environment
Skills
- Proven experience in a dental office setting is a must
- Familiarity with Akitu-One or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Experience in human resources management within a healthcare environment is an asset.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and staff members alike.
- Knowledge of acute care practices is beneficial but not mandatory.
