We’re currently seeking a Dental Lead Hygiene Coordinator to join our growing team and take the lead in managing our hygiene department with efficiency, compassion, and a strong attention to detail.
Position Summary:
The Dental Lead Hygiene Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hygiene department, ensuring a smooth, productive schedule, and supporting hygienists in delivering outstanding patient care. This is a leadership role that combines administrative duties with patient interaction, and requires excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the hygiene schedule to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Work closely with hygienists and front office staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Monitor hygiene department metrics, such as re-care rates, cancellations, and production goals.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointments, treatment recommendations, and follow-up care.
- Manage re-care system to ensure patients are scheduled for routine preventive care.
- Support new patient onboarding and recall outreach.
- Train and mentor hygiene support staff as needed.
- Help maintain a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Abeldent, AkituOne).
- Leadership experience or a natural aptitude for mentoring a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional dental or administrative training a plus.
