JJob Description:
We are looking for Registered Dental Hygienists with a passion for animal health and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As a member of one of our teams, you will work directly with dog owners in their homes, delivering professional dental hygiene services to improve canine dental health. Your responsibilities will include:
· Conducting comprehensive dental assessments of dogs, including examination of teeth, gums, and oral tissues.
· Performing thorough dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of dog's teeth to remove plaque, tartar, and other dental deposits.
· Educating dog owners on proper oral hygiene techniques, dental care products, and preventive measures to maintain their dogs' dental health.
· Providing personalized recommendations and treatment plans based on the individual needs of each dog.
· Maintaining accurate and detailed records of dental assessments, treatments, and follow-up care.
· Collaborating with one or more RRDD Client Service Specialist, our Treatment Services Coordinator and other Team Members to maintain or improve service standards for every client treatment.
· Continuously staying updated on the latest advancements and best practices in canine dental hygiene.
· Collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to support community, awareness and thought leadership in the area of canine dental health.
- Collaborate with our Team Development Coordinator and other Team Members to support and advance the training and development of of your fellow Canine Dental Health Specialists.
Qualifications:
· MUST LOVE DOGS - Passionate about dogs and commitment to helping dogs and their owners lead healthier, longer lives.
- A desire to develop an independent client roster of dog owners with (up to) semi-annual automated recall, booking, scheduling and payment and notification supports.
· Valid certification and registration as a Dental Hygienist, preferably with 5- 10 years of work experience.
· Willingness to train in canine dental anatomy, with the goal of developing proficiency in canine dental healthcare through the application of your skills and best practices developed as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- This will include an initial outlay of up to $500. to register for preliminary online courses and purchase instruments, treatment supplies, RRDD treatment apparel (all of which is recoverable by attaining modest production targets during probationary period).
· Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with dog owners.
· Empathy and compassion towards animals, ensuring their comfort and safety during dental treatments.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
· Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, purposeful and community-facing environment.
· Own a car, with flexibility to travel locally within a designated urban area.
