Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Certified Level II Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and dental procedures. As a Certified Level II Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences by providing efficient support during dental treatments, managing clinical operations, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient appointments.
- Take dental radiographs (X-ray imaging) while adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Abeldent, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Qualifications
- Certified Level II Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification recognized in the field.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience.
- Ability to work evenings and Saturdays (mandatory)
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic environment with proficiency in general dentistry procedures.
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Abeldent for medical documentation and record management.
- Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases along with knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology.
