Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Dental Administrator to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. This role involves managing administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative operations within the dental clinic, including scheduling, billing, and patient records management
- Supervise office staff, including receptionists and administrative support personnel
- Oversee fiscal management tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality across all records and communications
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, and Epic for accurate documentation and record keeping
- Coordinate with clinical staff to streamline practice workflows and improve patient experience
- Handle human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development
- Monitor clinic operations to meet JCAHO standards and manage accreditation requirements
- Oversee billing processes related to managed care, insurance claims, and patient payments
- Maintain medical records with attention to accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Support medical management activities including utilization management and hospital or acute care coordination when applicable
Experience
- Proven experience in medical or dental office management with a strong background in healthcare administration
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated supervisory experience overseeing office staff or clinical support teams
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical records management
- Experience with fiscal responsibilities including budgeting, financial management, and resource planning in a healthcare setting
- Prior work in dental clinics or healthcare facilities such as hospitals or urgent care centers is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
