Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Treatment Coordinator to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between patients and the clinical team, ensuring smooth communication, treatment planning, and patient education. This role offers an opportunity to utilize your expertise in dental and medical office procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and supporting practice operations. Prior experience with electronic medical records and dental software such as Dentrix is highly preferred. The Treatment Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing patient satisfaction, managing scheduling, and assisting with administrative functions within the practice.
Duties
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding treatment plans, financial arrangements, and appointment scheduling
- Educate patients on treatment options, procedures, and post-treatment care using clear communication and medical terminology
- Coordinate with dental and medical professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records systems, including Dentrix or similar platforms
- Assist in billing, budgeting, and insurance processing to optimize practice revenue
- Oversee patient flow and ensure timely appointment scheduling to maximize efficiency
- Supervise administrative staff as needed, providing guidance on office procedures and patient service standards
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Support human resources functions related to staff training and development when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental or medical office settings, preferably with familiarity in hospital or acute care environments
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, electronic medical records, and healthcare software such as Dentrix
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a healthcare setting is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients
- Background in human resources or staff supervision is a plus
- Experience with budgeting, insurance processing, and financial counseling for patients is advantageous
- Knowledge of nursing or hospital experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining professionalism at all times
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
