Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile working environment
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information
Qualifications:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Excellent knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene
