We are looking for Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with at least 3 years experience to join our team in our Cochrane clinic (15 minutes drive from NW Calgary). Preference given to candidates with Invisalign knowledge, iTero IOS experience, Crown and Bridge experience and has worked with ClearDent Dental Software.
Duties include:
- Assisting the dentist and hygienist during a variety of treatment procedures (such as chairside assisting, treatment plan entry and periodontal probing recording);
- Taking digital dental x-rays;
- Reviewing patient's medical history
- Serving as an infection control participant, preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment;
- Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment;
- Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery and other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling);
- Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., toothbrushing, flossing and nutritional counseling);
- Taking digital impressions and records of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth);
- Strong communication skills to explain dental procedures such as Invisalign, Crown and Bridge, Dental Implants and other major dental treatments.
