Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service through friendly phone etiquette and professional demeanor.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software Dentrix & coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily operations.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, ensuring accurate billing and claims processing.
- Manage patient intake forms, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, confirm patient details, and direct calls appropriately.
- Perform insurance verification and billing tasks
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and office documents while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with health information management standards.
- Assist with office management duties such as inventory control, faxing, copying, data entry, and supporting medical administrative support functions.
Skills
- Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong familiarity in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities.
- Proficiency in EMR systems including Dentrix or similar platforms; experience with SIDEXIS is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), ICD coding standards, HIPAA compliance, and documentation review processes.
- Skilled in insurance verification procedures for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers; adept at handling medical billing and collections efficiently.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with health information management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette; ability to provide outstanding patient service at all times.
