Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative duties efficiently. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and familiarity with dental office operations. Prior experience with electronic medical records and dental software is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Duties
- Dental Background is a MUST!
- Greet patients warmly and check them in upon arrival
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using TRACKER.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions
- Maintain organized front desk area and ensure all patient forms are completed correctly
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
- Prepare patient charts and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Coordinate with dental staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations
- Handle patient inquiries professionally and provide excellent customer service
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office setting
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare documentation
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with exceptional interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for scheduling and record keeping
- Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures in a healthcare setting
- Prior experience in medical or dental office environments is preferred but not required
