Dr. Jeff Soparlo is looking to bring an Oral Surgery Referrals Coordinator to the team. We are seeking an individual who has a strong patient care focus, is motivated to learn, organized, and willing to contribute to innovation as we grow. Our team is looking to bring on another person that demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a part of our team who will add to our positive and fun culture.
Overview
As the first point of contact in our bustling oral surgery practice, the Referrals Coordinator plays a vital role in establishing rapport with patients, referring health and dental professionals and team members. This role is suited for a motivated individual capable of working independently and in a team environment. The ideal candidate possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, can prioritize tasks effectively, and demonstrates interpersonal awareness, empathy, and a professional demeanor.
Duties
- Receive and process incoming patient referrals
- Respond to patient and referring office requests via phone and electronic communications through use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.), Adobe, Brightsquid, PowerPractice, and MaxAssist software
- Obtain and review patient medical history and booking information to support initial surgical assessments, treatment planning, and proper scheduling
- Manage sensitive patient information in compliance with regulatory standards
- Work with both public and private insurance companies and relay pertinent information to patients regarding their insurance coverage
- Follow up with patients and referring offices to ensure complete and accurate information
- Assist in scheduling and ensure accurate and appropriate appointment timelines are followed for treatment planning
- Accurately relay key appointment information to patients and referring providers
- Working with numerous other team members to ensure patient's experiences in the office are smooth and efficient

Previous experience in the medical or dental field is an asset but not required. We are willing to help our new team member gain the necessary experience and training to succeed in their role. Medical/dental benefits provided. The wage range is $25-$30/hour and is dependent on experience.
