Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dental Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive dental office experience, and proficiency with practice management software such as Open Dental. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining a smooth patient flow. The Dental Office Manager will be instrumental in creating an efficient, welcoming environment that promotes excellent patient care and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate front desk staff, dental assistants, and hygienists to ensure efficient daily operations
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out processes, and billing procedures
- Oversee human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Open Dental or similar practice management software
- Ensuring supplies are kept up to date in the practice
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, OSHA standards, and privacy laws such as HIPAA
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and inventory management to optimize practice profitability
- Handle patient inquiries, resolve complaints, and foster a positive patient experience
- Coordinate with dental providers to streamline clinical workflows and improve service delivery
- Implement policies for infection control, safety protocols, and quality assurance
Experience
- Proven experience managing a dental office or medical practice with a strong understanding of dental office workflows
- 2+ years in office managment experience
- Proficiency in Open Dental or comparable electronic medical records systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance
- Experience supervising staff in a healthcare setting; prior human resources management is preferred
- Background in budgeting, financial management, or administrative leadership within a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care and operational efficiency
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
